For the first time, in their 20 years of serving up our favourite libation, the Gin Palace will be open for lunch. Hosting seven different distilleries, across seven separate events, patrons will be lead down a visceral path of sensory wonderment.
A G&T on arrival will lubricate the welcoming meet and greet with the makers behind the featured gin. This will follow through to a three course lunch matched with three cocktails. A kitchen of the distillery’s choosing will be plating the meals, while the specialty bartenders of Gin Palace complement each stage with a well considered signature drink.
The theme ‘Scents of Place’ is left excitingly up to the interpretation of the distillery; some meals will feature botanicals found in the representative gins, others will feature locally foraged wholefoods – but always with the gin and the place held front of mind.
Straight from across the Strait
First to grace the room, will be theDasher + Fisher gins from Tasmania’s Southern Wild Distillery (recently awarded Best Distiller at the Tasting Australia Spirit Awards). Expect native pepperberries, liquorice root, lavender, sage and wakame seaweed.
We have pared up with Southern Wild for the first lunch with Executive chef David Hall creating the bespoke menu. The Pure South cuisine draws inspiration from farmers, fishermen and artisan producers of King Island, Flinders Island & Tasmania… but this is just the beginning.
